I find the pattern on the webworm moth’s wings to be very striking. It looks almost synthetic in its preciseness and symmetry. If you look close enough, you can almost see what looks like pixelization as if the little guy didn’t want to spring for the high resolution version, so he just settled with the thumbnail version he downloaded off of Google Images.
This insect gets its name from the fact that its larvae feed on the foliage of Ailanthus altissima (tree of heaven). This is an invasive exotic tree originally from china.
